Pastor: Rev. Dr. Duane R. Brown
"I believe that the ministry of the Church cannot be separated from the everyday life of its members.  In my preaching, I try to provide insight into the relevance of the scriptures for our modern day lives.  I see the Church as an organic spiritual entity - a Tree of Life - that is rooted in Jesus Christ and whose organizational structure provides a framework of branches on which diverse forms of ministry bear fruit for personal and social transformation.  For this reason, my efforts are directed toward building a community of faith in which all people of all ages are welcome.  I want to see to it that anyone who walks through our doors will receive the encouragement, training and support they may need to discover and utilize their God-given gifts for ministry.

"I was ordained into the Christian Ministry in 1972.  I received my Bachelor of Arts from Bates College in 1969 with a major in Religion, my Master of Divinity degree from Andover Newton Theological School in 1972, and my Doctor of Ministry degree in Psychology and Counseling in 1993.

Our Membership

At ECC, all are welcome. Anyone can participate in most of our ministries and activities without joining the church. However, membership signifies a person's willingness to accept the responsibility of carrying out Jesus' ministry through this church. The church's decisions are made by vote of the membership and are not governed by a denominational hierarchy.

ECC embraces diversity. We believe that God has made us different from each other, and we thank God for the chance to become friends with people whose stories are different from our own and from whom we have an opportunity to learn, even if we don't always agree.

ECC offers programs and activities that invite all to participate in the church community, including:

  • Adult and children's choirs
  • Hand bell choir
  • Youth ministry
  • Puppet preachers
  • K-12 Sunday School program
  • First Communion and Confirmation classes
  • Bible study classes
  • Spiritual parenting
  • Men's and women's retreats
  • Mission projects
  • Committee participation and leadership

A portion of our Sunday worship is devoted to the Children's Message to help our youngest members understand how the Lord is at work in their daily lives.
